As a student, Adam transformed his community and launched his career by creating big ideas to solve campus issues. Demonstrating leadership earned him national recognition, the universities highest honor, and the confidence to be a leader. Adam quickly realized being bold, doesn’t come without failure. Through storytelling, Adam discusses personal experiences and strategies that empower students to meaningfully engage their campus community. Adam shares stories about proactive campus leadership, and challenges students to rethink the value of hazing.

Adam’s Bio

Adam Giery is a speaker, consultant, and entrepreneur dedicating his life to the field of education. Adam speaks across the country about the value of decision making on our lives and our organizations.

Adam’s experience in the field of education started as a classically trained teacher.  As a speaker, he is doing the two things he loves the most: working with students about the power of their decisions and having fun! His thought-provoking talks are infused with self-awareness, honesty, and real-life examples.

As a Partner in an education consulting firm, he engages with Governors, Senators, industry leaders, and Fortune 500 companies, seeking to implement meaningful education transformation.

As a student, Adam served as a three-term Senator and as the Director of Campus Life for the Student Government Association. While earning his master’s degree in higher education policy studies, Adam developed several award-winning programs centered on student support services, sustainability, and professional skills within a higher education institution.

These programs were replicated nationally, earning Adam a Gubernatorial Fellowship and his university’s highest honor, the Order of the Pegasus.

Adam is a proud alumnus of the University of Central Florida and brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, where he served as the chapter’s Vice President.

In his free time, Adam is an avid traveler (having flown one way around the world), ideas man, and golf fanatic. Adam is also a proud husband and father to an opinionated Boston Terrier.

The Last Man Out

As a member of a national fraternity, Adam found lifelong friends, mentors, and created countless memories. Adam’s brotherhood experience positively impacted the course of his life. In Adam’s keynote, The Last Man Out, Adam shares his story about losing his brotherhood and living alone in his fraternity house after a hazing incident resulted in the closure of their chapter. Adam addresses the value of brotherhood/sisterhood and defines the real costs associated with hazing. By the end of this program, students will understand the power of joining an organization, be able to identify all forms of hazing, and understand clear strategies to address hazing in their organizations.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this program, students will learn:

  • Specific strategies to address hazing aligned with campus student conduct standards,
  • The true value of being in a Greek / Athletic organization,
  • Differentiate between rituals and bullying,
  • Professional and personal repercussions of hazing,
  • How to take ownership of their organization and personal actions.
The Core Five

Too often we use the words “need too” and “should” to describe issues in our lives in need of change. The people we admire, or aspire to be, made one major decision – take meaningful action. However, creating goals that resemble turn by turn directions on a map have the potential to stop our journey before it starts.  In The Core Five, Adam teaches students how he reframed his goals from a roadmap to an achievable life curriculum.  He decompresses the sense of urgency created to obtain immediate success and walks students through the process of defining their Core Five.  These lessons are shared with open dialogue, humor, and honesty about his success and failures. This presentation is ideal for freshmen orientations, Student Government Associations, and leadership events.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this program, students will learn:

  • The skills to create their Core Five life curricula
  • How to understand and efficiently evaluate their personal or professional pathway.
  • How to embrace failures as a valuable part of the learning process
  • How to establish a realistic timeline to achieve their Core Five goals.
