Whether we choose to admit it or not, alcohol and drugs are on campus and the exposure to them often leads to substance abuse and can be a detrimental part of the college experience. Only through honest and open conversation can we reach students and give them the information they need to make better, informed decisions.

Bobby’s non-judgmental approach focuses on providing factual information combined with real-world scenarios relating to the experience of today’s college student. Bobby answers the questions you were too afraid to ask with expertise and appropriate humor, engaging audiences in “real talk” about alcohol, drugs and the associated risks and consequences.

DRUGS & ALCOHOL: INFORMED DECISIONS & REAL TALK

Drug and alcohol abuse remains a persistent issue on college campuses. Students are coping with higher levels of stress as some turn to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism. New students are balancing the pressure from peers to fit in with a general curiosity with their newfound independence, and with a rise in Fentanyl-laced drugs.

Risky drug abuse and unintended deaths due to opioids, Fentanyl-laced drugs, prescriptions, and other drugs have increased since the COVID-19 pandemic and increasingly present risks and negative consequences for students and the campus community.

Despite best intentions by campus administrators, drug education and prevention programs are often overshadowed by a focus on alcohol-only education. Bobby challenges perceptions and clarifies myths and facts across a spectrum of drugs beyond alcohol including opioids, Fentanyl, NARCAN/Naloxone, cocaine, ecstasy/molly, predatory drugs, study drugs, and prescription drug abuse. Instead of lecturing with technical medical information or using scare-tactics, Bobby incorporates real-world scenarios, facts and culturally relevant media to help students challenge their perceptions and make informed decisions.

Learning Outcomes

  • the myths versus the realities of heavy drinking and drug usage for better decision making,
  • reduce risk for college students and campus organizations,
  • the consequences and side effects of mixing drugs (like opioids) and alcohol, and
  • how different types of drugs can negatively impact the mind and body.
DRUGS, FENTANYL, AND ALCOHOL…OH MY!

There’s No Place Like College! There’s No Place Like College! There’s No Place Like College!
There is no place like college for students to have the greatest opportunity to personally grow and learn. There is also no place like college for students to explore and experiment with alcohol and a mix of other drugs and substances. Understanding the current reality of the culture around alcohol and drugs is the first step to successful education and prevention. Bobby works with your campus to develop customized content to address the issues impacting your campus with a focus on the current challenges and emerging trends your community faces. This program can include information ranging from alcohol and study drugs to opioids and cocaine. Using his unique approach, Bobby incorporates real-world scenarios, facts and culturally relevant media across a spectrum of topics often ignored in most alcohol to help students challenge their perceptions on alcohol and drug use. He helps students make better-informed decisions while providing a refreshing and different point of view of the current alcohol and other drug use culture on college campuses.
