The Gifted Have Vision

One of my favorite quotes in life was spoken by the great Myles Munroe: “Eyes that see are common, but eyes with vision are rare.” Sadly, the late, great Nassau, Bahamas pastor is no longer with us, but his words continue to stand the test of time. Go back and read his clever yet profound statement again. You really have to take your time and process it.

Unequivocally, Myles’ words speak to the depth of my soul because our sight—the function our eyes produce—is overrated. Yes, it is quite glorious and a real work of God that we can see the beautiful colors of spring flowers, or the glow beaming off a full moon in the dead of night, yet this power can be somewhat explained through science and human anatomy, which demystifies the wonder.

What is inexplicable and supernatural is how our eyes can have vision. Vision is beholding something in your future that you do not currently possess in the present.

My mother raised me and my two siblings in the single, back bedroom of my grandparents’ house. I come from humble beginnings and simple means. To have a warm bath, I had to heat up water on a stovetop because there was a time when my mother couldn’t afford hot water in the old, welded, beat-up double-wide trailer she bought to move us out from underneath Grandma and Paw-Paw. Yikes! That thing was hideous, but our small family was so thankful for it. My eyes saw lack and insufficiency all around me. However, my vision saw something greater in my future. Vision clearly forecasted that I’d be a homeowner one day. Vision revealed—long before it became a reality—that I’d be an entrepreneur, speaker, author, coach, and the list goes on. Of course, I had to chase vision down with grit and grind, but that is a story for another day.

Do not allow what you see in the natural realm to deter you from having vision—visions of your breakthrough and the great things ahead.

Can you envision graduating with honors? Winning a championship on your sports team? Having the career of your dreams?

Gifted people imagine. They see images of greatness ahead of schedule—the grandeur of vision.

You have a supernatural gifting in you to accelerate and excel.
