Don’t Let Classes Interfere With Your Real Education

I was recently asked a few weeks ago to provide my best advice to students as they enter a new school year, here is what I had to say:
I strongly believe that the best learning experiences on a college campus come OUTSIDE the classroom which means you need to get involved in organizations/activities, take on leadership positions in them, learn what your leadership potential is, determine your strengths as a leader and much more… the last thing you want to do is graduate having regrets, such as “I wish I would have gotten more involved”.
The bottom line – the work you put in outside the classroom will have a significant impact on your success as a person and professional, so make it count!
